Thomas could see that he had Rapunzel’s full attention and hoped that she liked the story and didn’t think of him as a bad person for messing with the girls in drama class. “I blame Michael, it was his idea.” He was like his friends little follower, and did almost everything that he had wanted. He was never really a take charge person until he moved to America and had to be. He couldn’t be a follower anymore. “I’m sure that you would have fit into our little group somehow, but we definitely would have corrupted you.” As a teenager, he had been into smoking, drinking and pretty much whatever Michael and Rebecca did. Now he had cut back on smoking and still occasionally drank but he was in control. He was no longer doing it to mourn his father. “It didn’t even hit me, Michael managed to pull me out of the way. She was expelled.” He laughed, remembering it. He wondered briefly at what happened to her but then realized that he really didn’t care. “I hope not. If I come home one day and find the liquor cabinet empty, I’m going to be gutted.” He took her hand again once they left the movie, shoving the last of his chocolate candies into his pocket to eat later, and they headed back into the mall. They strolled casually towards the costume store, and stopped in front of a small store that was exactly like the dollar stores back in New Orleans. “Let’s look for Rubber Ducks.” He suggested.
"Michael sounds funny. I can’t wait to meet him!" The friendship between him and Thomas made her think about her friendship with Kiara. They were always doing silly things together. Kiara was her own Michael. Friendship was needed for all people and now, she had her boyfriend that just so happened to be her best friend as well. She could tell him anything and she knew that he wouldn’t run out on her. When she told him of her powers, he could have ran as far as he wanted from her. But, he didn’t. He stayed. She would never forget that. "I’m guessing I wouldn’t be as fragile as a flower, then? That’s what my mother used to call me. Her little flower." Specifically, she called her her little lily due to the fact that her middle name was Liliana. A shiver coursed through her body, down her spine as she had a recollection of her mother, which caused her to cuddle in closer to Thomas’s frame for protection. "Really? Wow. That girl deserved it, though! Throwing a chair is a bit much. If she wanted to hurt you, she should have used a frying pan," she grinned, jokingly. "Oh, I don’t think I’ll ever be too much into drinking. I’m going to be really classy and drink champagne!" Gladly, she held his hand as her eyes glanced upon his hand that put the chocolates in his pocket. "You are going to share those later, right?" In a little while, she’d be ready to eat again. "Yes! Rubber Duckies, here we come! Wee!" Excitedly, she clutched his hand and darted towards the entrance of the store.
Everything seemed to be going along great regardless of the circumstances. Seeing that bright smile on Rapunzel’s face made Thomas want to marry her in that minute, but he had to make sure that it was special, that it was their own fairytale. “Of course I mean it, love. The thought of being with you forever is the loveliest thought that has ever crossed my mind. I have no doubts in my mind that it’s what I want.” As the words slipped out of his mouth about being a monster, he instantly regretted it, and knew that Rapunzel would have something to say about it. “I know that you don’t feel that way. Knowing that you’ll be by my side is the greatest thing that I could possibly hope for. I’m sorry for all of the mood swings and the craziness.” He truly did feel bad. He didn’t want to scare her or worry her in the slightest. Her hand squeezed his and he wasn’t going to let go, she never had to worry about that. “Whatever you want, baby. I can’t wait until you’re Rapunzel Savage. I promise you right now that I’ll make sure that you never regret it. Summer is never going to have the childhood that you had. And baby, you’re much more than just a silly girl from New Orleans. You’re the daughter of sunshine, I swear it.” Her eyes were so beautiful that he couldn’t look away, and it even made it difficult to talk. He felt like he was going somewhere, somewhere special buried in those blue depths and the world around him was ignored. Something clicked in him, their attraction made sense, there was no doubt in his mind that they were meant to be together. Alice had been a test, and he had passed, his heart was meant for Rapunzel only. “I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure that you are happy, okay?” Regardless of the voices, there was nowhere else that he would rather be at this moment. Rapunzel was all that he ever wanted. “You’re extremely brave. You could have run away, saved yourself, found help with the wolf. You stayed. You stayed right by my side and made sure that I was okay, and that’s the bravest thing I’ve ever seen someone do.” He hoped that he could convince her of it, it was how he felt. “I could be the boogie man. I mean, I do watch you while you sleep.” He laughed lightly. Seeing and feeling her asleep in his arms was one of the few things that could calm the voices down. “That is true. I had to fight extremely hard, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Like wanted a rematch.” The kid was extremely cute, and he hoped that if he had a son, he would be just as determined. Luke would go far in life, he had no doubts. “I have no doubts. He’s going to wish that he was never born by the time we’re done with him.” Thomas growled, and it actually sounded rather wolf like, his teeth were exposed at the thought of the man that had put them into this predicament. But he took a deep breath, calmed himself down, went back into his happy place with Rapunzel. “You’re perfect.”
“I think you would be able to do it, you have others who support you. I’m not the only one.” He knew that Kiara would help at the very least. The two were close, much like he was with Michael back in the day. “You never deserved to feel that way in the first place. Even when we met, you were smarter than me in so many ways. You know how to see the good in people and bring it out. You know how to play all sorts of instruments. You know more about the stars than I will ever understand.” He traced circles on the back of her hand lazily, using his thumb. “I wonder with you sometimes.” He joked. He took his tea and blew on it a bit as well, before slipping his leg under Rapunzel’s so they would still be touching. “Thank you. And you think that tea is an advantage? I guess I do know the best sort of teas.”
Rapunzel couldn’t believe the lovely words exchanged between the couple, it was like she was in a beautiful dream or daze. Knowing that the wonderful man with love gleaming in his eyes and kindness in his heart wanted to marry her gave her a feeling of wholeness, no longer feeling hallow. Seeing Thomas smile for the first time in days was like looking upon a vibrantly colorful rainbow that appeared after a rainstorm. The only difference was that his smile was more vibrant, more bright than the day sky. “I don’t have any doubts either about it, either. I know that it’s going to be the best day of my life because any day spent with you is the best day ever. Forever with you is a future that would be well spent and I’ll cherish every moment of it just as I have cherished every moment with you so far.” All of her favorite memories consisted of Thomas. It wasn’t because of what they were doing at the time that made it incredibly special, it was because of him being there. He made her come to the realization that it wasn’t about the journey, but it was about the people beside you to help and love you along the way. “I’ll never feel that way either. You’re still you! The hellhound is a hellhound and it’s not you, it’s not apart of you either. It’s completely separate from you because you’re not your curse. You’re so much more, baby. You don’t need to apologize either. We all get angry sometimes, it’s okay.” Despite the curse, whenever she graced her eyes upon his visage, she saw the man that he was before and the man that he shall remain. Literally, she could see his soul glowing around him just as the stars and mood painted the night canvas. Lightly, she squeezed his hand back. “I can’t wait either! I think it sounds beautiful together. I know I won’t regret it because I know that you’ll be the most wonderful husband ever. You’re already the most wonderful boyfriend that I could ever wish for. Summer’s going to have a lovely childhood filled with love. Really? You think that I’m the daughter of sunshine? Wow. I’ve never been called that before!” She could feel her cheeks heating up as he filled her mind with lovely thoughts. He appeared just like a dream to her, a kaleidoscope of colors that covered her. He was the breath that she now breathed. Looking into his bright deep set eyes, she could see a combination of different shades of blue with specs of green the shade of perfectly carved emeralds. From the very beginning, they were meant for one another. “You’re making me so happy. I’m always at my happiest when I’m with you! I’m going to spend the rest of my life trying to make sure that you’re happy as well.” She never wanted to see him frown. It pained her to see someone so wonderful in pain of any sort. Thomas was her dream, her dream come true and dreams weren’t meant to hold sadness or anger. They were meant to hold happiness. “I couldn’t just leave you there. I knew that I had to help you. When I…When I heard you scream my name while you were in pain, I wanted to wash all of that pain away and that was the only way I knew how to. I’ll always stick by your side, darling.” It was such a horrible day. “Sometimes when I close my eyes, it’s like reliving that day,” she admitted, sadly. “Wait, you watch me fall asleep? What do I do in my sleep? I’m curious now!” She found it heartwarming that he watched her sleep, that he could find something comforting in something so simple. “We need to go visit the center again. I miss Luke, Johnny, and Samuel.” They were such lovely children, she hoped they were adopted soon. “Fight the power! Stick it to the man!” Once she heard the growl export through his lips, she wasn’t frightened. Smiling softly, she pressed a kiss to his cheek. “That was sexy. I do like a man who takes charge,” she muttered. “I think it’s you that’s the perfect one.”
"With my friends and families support, I know that I can do it! You’ve inspired me to go into social work, baby. Your dream of wanting to make the world a better place captured my heart." When he spoke of it, she could see the gleam of determination in his eyes and she hoped that would be the look she got when she would start going to work. "Really? I was smarter than you? But, you’re so smart! I only know how to do those things because I had the time to do it. If you ever wanted, I could teach you how to play those instruments! Or teach you about the stars! I’m going to build another telescope, we can spot Thomas the star up close! Doesn’t that sound fun?" Underneath his soothing touch, goosebumps sprouted. "I’m just filled with wonder, aren’t I?" she giggled softly before taking a drink of her tea. "I do! I’ve never tried it before you! You’ve opened me up to new experiences!"
Mamma Mia! - I Have a Dream
She blinked as they weren’t technically text books for school as she felt she knew that voice. Slowly turning to get the view of Rapunzel as lapis lazuli eyes that had specks of gold in them that seemed to glint in the light just right reflect like metal got wide as she smiled big. Noticing her holding a Shakespeare book while she smiled even bigger. “Wait your not an adult?” She said as she thought she was in her 20’s. “Oh well I mean that wasn’t meant to be an insult. . You just have a personality that’s just alive, and wise. But uh, its a little complex, I moved during the school year and didn’t get back enrolled… Soo I’m taking a placement exam that will either determine if I need to go back to 10th grade or move on. What school are you enrolling in?” She asked curiously but then she smiled. “So your into Shakespeare?” She asked almost excitedly.
Upon seeing the friendly face of the girl, she noticed that it was Cinderella. “Cindy!” she cheered, excitedly It had been awhile since they had seen each other. To her, it was always a wonderful occasion to see an old friend. “No, I am an adult. I’m nineteen! I’ll be twenty next year, isn’t that exciting? I’m so excited! Anyway, yeah, I’m going back to school to get my G.E.D! Then, I’ll be off to college to get a degree to be a social worker!” Contrastingly, she was excited yet nervous for school. But, with Thomas’s endless support she knew that she would be able to power through her classes. “I have no idea where I’m enrolling, but yes! Thank you! I bet you’ll be able to pass your exam, you seem very smart!” she mused, smiling softly. “I am, yes! I’m trying to find a love sonnet to recite to my boyfriend! Do you have any suggestions?”
“When you are left behind and all you have is the pain.”
An image of Legion fitted through her thoughts, and she returned the three history books about New Orleans she checked out last time. But just as she opened the front doors, a thunderstorm blew in from out of nowhere. She’d gotten used to this happening almost every day, sometimes twice a day. One minute it was sunny; the next it would be literally black outside, with rain falling so hard and thick that you literary couldn’t see through it. Not even South Carolina could compare to New Orleans’s summer storms. Inside the library, quiet and cool. Outside it poured, with lightening and thunder. She sighed, pulling out several books off the book shelf pulling out Rock and mineral books, biology books. Silently reading as she was still wearing that hijab still.
Rapunzel decided to go to the library today, to get something by Shakespeare. She wanted to see if she would be able to understand it on her own, but wanted to surprise Thomas by reciting something romantic to him. Looking up at the swirling clouds in the sky, she frowned and took off her jean jacket to hold over her blonde coils. Due to her five month pregnancy, it was hard for her to outrun the storm. It began to pour, causing her jacket to become soaked, but she was untouched by the water pellets. With a cheerful smile, she stepped into the library and held the jacket with her arms. Quietly, she walked to one of the bookshelves and found a tiny leather bound book with Shakespeare sonnets. Smiling to herself, she went over to one of the tables and she was about to read it until something caught her eyes. “Are those text books? I need to look into those, I’m going to high school pretty soon! What grade are you in? If you don’t mind me asking, of course?”
Thomas had to think of another story. The willy bench one was one of his favorites, and he instantly remembered another thing that he had done in high school. “I remember I had to take a drama class and the end project was to change a scene in Hamlet to a more modern story, and then do it as a play in front of the class. And I was in a group with Michael and these three girls that didn’t like us very much. Something to do with Michael sleeping with one of their good friends or something. But one of them was a total control freak, like she had to write the script, she had to highlight everybody’s lines in different colors and all of that nonsense. So what do we do? We stole her highlighters, made our own versions of the script for her two friends, highlighted it so it looked like the normal one, then snuck it into their bags. When the time of the performance came around, they were doing a completely different scene and the whole thing was a mess. The girl flipped out, she actually threw a chair at me.” Thomas was laughing by the end of the story. He didn’t get hurt since Michael stepped in, but it was pretty funny at the time. “Yeah, I’ll wait until she graduates high school to give her these awful ideas. She’ll do better in College.” He smoothed down her curls to press another kiss, this time on the top of her head. “Don’t explode, I’d rather have you in one piece.” He told her. They only half watched the movie but at the same time, Thomas definitely didn’t feel like it was money wasted. He knew that he had fun. When the lights turned back, a couple people had glared at them for talking so much but Thomas was completely indifferent. “To the costume store?” He asked.
Rapunzel gave her undivided attention to Thomas, starring up at him with wide eyes filled with wonder. Intently, she listened to his story. It was almost as if she was living through his memories by gaining experience by the stories he told. She never had a proper education where she had to be in a class filled with people who shared her love for learning. Not only had the story done that, but it also painted a picture of how Thomas acted as a teenager. He seemed to be quite the prankster. “Wow, that’s hilarious!” By the end of the story, she was giggling along with his melodic laughter. He didn’t have to say anything funny to gain a laugh from her. He could just laugh and laugh and she would automatically giggle due to his contagious laughter. “I wish I could have known you, Michael, and Rebecca back then! It makes me sad that I couldn’t have known you when you were a teenager, but I’m so glad that I have you in my life now!” It was better now than never, she figured. She didn’t want to think about what her life would have been like without him. It pained her far too much. “If I were in that class, I definitely would have giggled and shielded you from the chair that the girl through.” A light blush rose to the surface, a smile painting her rosy lips as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. She leaned forward just a tad, pressing a kiss to the tip of his cute nose that she adored. “She’s going to be so rebellious, I can feel it!” By the kicking, she knew she’d be a soccer player just as Thomas had said. “Ah! I’m going to explode in 3, 2,1…Haha! Just kidding!” she giggled. “Yes! To the costume store! Duh duh duh!”
"If this isn’t Thomas, I’m a little frightened…"
